The Ultimate Fighting Championship, more commonly known as the UFC, has gone on record to say they have struck a deal with Crypto.Com, who will become their official cryptocurrency sponsor. The agreement, which will run until 2031, ranks as the most significant sponsorship partnership in UFC history.

Ten Year Deal

As a result of the ten-year deal between the two parties, Crypto.Com branding will now appear on the kits of the fighters moving forward and in their corners. The UFC confirmed this when they said that the Crypto.Com name would be on “every uniform of every UFC fighter who steps in the octagon.”

Conor McGregor & Dustin Poirier

And, there won’t be time for the ink to dry on the contract before the agreement comes to life, as Crypto.Com’s branding debut will be at the weekend when Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier get it on in the octagon at UFC 264 in a mouthwatering mega bout in Las Vegas.

Crypto On The Rise

It’s the rise of cryptocurrency in the mainstream that has led to the deal between the duo happening, according to Lawrence Epstein, UFC’s COO. He suggests the crypto world is “moving quickly” and that if the pair “talked a couple of years ago, crypto might not have been on the radar.”

Perfect Partnership

Dana White, UFC’s iconic CEO, said, “This is a partnership between two companies that are the best at what they do.” Before going on to add that he feels the UFC can “help Crypto.Com reach more people around the world through the strength of our brand.”

Branding

As well as the Crypto.Com branding being visible on fighters’ kits and in their respective corners, the company will also have its logo displayed inside the octagon. So, they’re getting maximum exposure as part of their agreement with the UFC, which will undoubtedly prove beneficial as a result.

Fighting Ambassadors

Furthermore, Dana White has opened the door for fighters to negotiate bespoke deals with Crypto.Com off their own backs, leading to them becoming paid ambassadors further down the line. It will bring even more exposure to the brand and cryptocurrencies in general that continue to disturb the mainstream.

Sporting Relationships

CEO of Crypto.Com, Kris Marszalek, insists the partnership will “bring crypto to the mainstream while raising our brand’s profile by supporting the world’s best athletes, teams and leagues.” The deal Crypto.Com has in place with the UFC compliments their recent agreements with Formula 1, Serie A and the NHL.

Global Coverage

It shows how far cryptocurrencies and brands have come in the last few years, especially Crypto.Com, who are making waves across multiple sports and getting their name out to the largest audiences around. Their recent partnership with the UFC means they have all their bases covered, with millions set to tune in for the PPV event at the weekend.

The Best Crypto Exchange

It remains to be seen if the world’s largest crypto exchange has any more deals in the pipeline for 2021, as they’re a company showing no signs of slowing down or resting on their laurels. And they will be eager to capitalise further on their newfound exposure.
